Bhutan professional standards for teachers

Bhutan Professional Standards for Teachers set expectations for teachers’ performance and assessment based on their roles and levels of experience. They contribute to the professionalization of the teaching career; underpin the accreditation of teacher education programmes; establish the basis for registration and certification of both public and private school teachers. They also ensure quality teacher preparation in pre-service teacher training. The standards will be linked to recruitment, remuneration, career development, promotion, and rewards and recognitions to nurture and retain competent and motivated teachers.
